GVA NORTHGLENN: When applying for early access at the Northglenn campus parents may submit applications from January 1st through March 1st for consideration by District staff. The Kindergarten screening process will take place during April & May for the following school year. Applicants are children who do not meet the kindergarten cut-off date of September 15, and exhibit advanced academic achievement, consistent attendance, positive attitude toward acceleration, intelligence, and maturity.
Once an application is submitted, the District GT Department will call to set up an appointment with a group of other applicant children. The maximum group size will be 8. The children will spend approximately 3 hours with a team of GT and/or Preschool professionals going through various assessments to gather data on the child. At the conclusion of the screening, the team will set up an individual appointment with the child for IQ testing with a district licensed school psychologist. Once all testing is concluded, a testing report will be mailed to you. All reports will go out by May 15.
