Enhance Your Russian Language Immersion Teaching Through Summer Professional Development

GVA STARTALK Russian Institute provides two weeks of summer training in content-based language instruction for aspiring and experienced K-12 public school teachers of Russian. The GVA Startalk program is aimed at preparing highly qualified teachers to meet the critical need for Russian programs in the U.S.

  • An intensive two-week (June 6-17, 2011) program focusing on quality instruction and assessments for Russian immersion programs integrating a science curriculum.
  • The program is open to both current teachers of Russian and those who are interested in Russian immersion teaching. Participants must possess advanced to superior Russian language skills in speaking, writing, reading and listening, and hold a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Each participant will receive a $1,000 stipend for successful completion of the program. No other expenses will be reimbursed. Participants must attend full days all three weeks.
  • Graduate credits are available.
