Global Village Academy (GVA) is a tuition-free public school authorized by Aurora Public Schools and open to all students in the Greater Denver area. The school is located in central Aurora, near I-225 and Illiff. GVA offers an international curriculum in elementary and middle school using the International Baccalaureate Organization's Primary and Middle Years Programs. Language immersion education will be offered in Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, and French. The school day is one hour longer than at most schools and provides approximately 60% instruction in English and 40% in the second language, with the goal of students becoming bilingual and bi-literate within 4-5 years. GVA's second year enrollment in 2008-2009 will be for grades K-6 in Mandarin and Spanish and for grades K-3 and 6 in French; the school will become a K-7 school in all languages by fall of 2009, and an K-8 school by 2010.
By completing the following form for your child(ren) for the 2008-2009 school year (or later), you acknowledge that completing this form in no way obligates you to enroll your child nor does it guarantee your child(ren)'s enrollment in this school. You understand that if the school is oversubscribed (more students than openings) for any grade, the school will hold a lottery to determine enrollment, as required by federal law.
