GVA is proud to sponsor a healthy hot lunch program for our students in partnership with Revolutions Food. Rev Foods is a healthy lunch provider that meets the high standards of whole food products—no sugar, no trans-fats, no dyes, and no hormones. All meals are healthy, tasty, and home-made. As part of the partnership between Rev Foods and GVA there will be a close collaboration in creating menus that students enjoy. Together we will actively solicit feedback from the students eating our meals to help us ensure that we are delivering food that our students and faculty love to eat!:
Lunch: We offer hot lunches, cold lunches and salads. Every lunch includes fresh fruit and vegetables, a healthy carbohydrate, and lean protein. Vegetarian meals are available upon request.
Breakfast: Every breakfast is served with lowfat, hormone-free milk and fresh fruit. Breakfast items include yogurt, cereal, bagels, and muffins.
Snack: Snack items include whole grain crackers, organic cheese, fresh fruit, lowfat yogurt, healthy snack bars, and many other nutritious foods.
Parents are asked to make menu selections and pay for meals on line using a credit card or debit card no later than one week in advanced. Parents and students may select from a hot item, a sandwich or a salad choice for one to five days. The cost of meals is $3.50 per lunch. Free and reduced lunch is provided for qualifying students. Please note that the school cannot provide lunch reimbursements in case of absences.
The purpose of homework is to reinforce classroom lessons, and to teach children good work habits. In most cases, homework will be sent home on Mondays and will be due on Fridays. Children should spend approximately 10 minutes per grade level on their homework, in addition to 10 to 15 minutes per night reading.
GVA will follow the Aurora Public School’s severe weather schedule. Please watch or listen to your local news channels for updated information, or visit the GVA webpage.
Parents and visitors must check in at the front reception desk. They will be provided a visitors badge to wear in the building.
