GVA will combine the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) with bilingual education in three world languages: Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, and French.  With partial immersion (i.e., 50% instruction in the world language and 50% in English), students will learn a world language of their choice and academic subjects in that language as comprehension, fluency, and literacy increase.

IBO's structured inquiry based education uses six trans-disciplinary theme-based units a year to integrate subject areas (language, including a second world language; social studies; mathematics, science and technology; the arts; and personal, social and physical education). These units are balanced with focused instruction in core subjects and specials taught in English and the world languages.  Cross-curricular strategies will be used to reinforce key skills.
